personal injury treating doctorWe are proud to announce that Ethan McQuinn, partner at Colorado personal injury law firm Anderson, Hemmat & McQuinn has been elected as a board member of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association.

Founded in 1953, the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association is the state's largest specialty bar association.  CTLA is comprised of Colorado attorneys who are committed to the protection and advancement of individual rights and the advancement of trial advocacy skills, high ethical standards and professionalism in the ongoing effort to preserve and improve the American system of jurisprudence.

CTLA is devoted to assuring that people in the state of Colorado are protected against insurance companies stepping all over them. The group lobbies for pro consumer legislation, hosts seminars to educate lawyers to be better advocates for consumers and is specifically set up to protect consumers from corporate injury and greed.

For nearly 25 years, CTLA has stood up to the challenge.  Beginning in 1986, the insurance industry and special interests sought to make Colorado the poster child for tort “reform.”  CTLA’s response was dramatic and vigorous.  The association’s leadership developed the EAGLE program to support political and legislative activities.

Essentially, EAGLE is an umbrella program, which collects annual contributions and distributes them to entities allied with CTLA's mission:

  • Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, which administers programs in professional lobbying, governmental relations, public relations and membership development
  • CTLA Political Action Committee (CTLAWPAC), formed to provide political contributions and independent support to legislative incumbents and candidates who support consumer rights
  • AAJ Political Action Committee (AAJPAC), formed to provide political contributions to candidates for federal office

Evolving from a traditional trade association, CTLA continues to be an active, aggressive advocacy organization.  Political action, professional lobbying, public relations, coalition building, grassroots outreach – all play roles in EAGLE’s success.
