Let me set the stage. Your mother's doctor has a heart-to-heart conversation with you and you've done your best but your mother is in a situation now where she really is going to need more of an assisted living or nursing home setting to get by. You feel terrible, you feel guilty. What do you do? You go and find the best nursing home around. You research it, you visit it, you talk to the staff, you see the patients and they look healthy, they look like they're being taken care of so you have your mom check in.
Now you've gotten a call stating that your mother fell. She was unattended, she fell and she broke her hip. Is that a personal injury case? It might be. What you didn't know is that when your mom got brought to that nursing home to begin with, what's supposed to happen regularly as her condition changes, is she's supposed to have a fall risk assessment, and based on how risky it is likely that she is to fall, they're supposed to implement specifically regulated things to protect the patient from falling. Common Questions About Personal Injury Claims in Denver, Colorado
The personal injury claims process can be complex. The Denver, Colorado accident lawyers at our personal injury law firm are here to answer your questions and help you along the way so that you can see a successful outcome to your personal injury case and claim. Below are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive about Denver accident cases and Colorado personal injury litigation. Click questions below to view the answers.
- 1) When does a personal injury accident case go to court?
Typically, a personal injury accident case will go to trial when a settlement agreement cannot be reached outside of courts. If the defendant in the personal injury case is refusing to offer a settlement that accurately reflects the extent of damages, then a trial might be the only option to secure maximum financial compensation.
- 2) How do I know if I should accept a personal injury settlement offer?
The best way to know whether or not you should accept a personal injury settlement is to consult with an accident lawyer you trust. Insurance companies try to get claimants to settle quickly before they know how much they actually could get for their accident. Consider having your personal injury case evaluated by a Denver accident attorney from our law firm.
- 3) How much does it cost to hire a Denver personal injury accident lawyer from your law firm?
Anderson, Hemmat & McQuinn operates on a contingency fee basis. This is a "no recovery, no fee" guarantee which basically states that you do not owe us attorney fees until we obtain a verdict or settlement for you. To learn more about payment options, please call our experienced accident attorneys directly.
- 4) Do I need an accident lawyer to handle my personal injury case?
While it is not mandatory that you have legal representation for a personal injury case, it can be extremely beneficial. Many people are cut short of the financial compensation because they were not aware of how much they actually deserved for their extensive accident.
